Dip H.Sc RT, Reiki, AAMT
I completed my Diploma of Remedial Therapies at ESTT College of massage in 2004. It was a 2.5 year course that consisted of Remedial Massage, Tuina (Chinese Massage) and Relaxation Massage Certificates. I have since completed Reiki Levels 1 and 2 and various self-development and ongoing learning courses including pregnancy massage, Polarity Therapy and Harmonic Technique.
My work experience spans a multitude of environments including volunteer hours with drug and alcohol rehabilitation, the Colac 8-day race, Health and Wellbeing fairs, various charity fun runs and displays of massage in shopping centres.
On a professional level I have worked in corporate massage with a company called Calastica in Melbourne, various spa environments on the Mornington Peninsula (Endota and Sorrento Day Spa), the Tyabb Football Club and have owned my own business for the last 7 years.
Since moving to Horsham in 2007 I have successfully built up a thriving business that recently moved to Droylsden House. It is my intention to provide the best possible massage therapy tailored to the individual needs of my clients in a comfortable and professional environment. My treatment is always changing. As I learn new things I apply them to the skills that I already have and I believe that you never stop learning. So there will always be room to improve and provide a better service.
Remedial Massage: A deep tissue form of massage that works on problem areas using massage technique, trigger point release, mobilisation of stiff joints and stretching. I believe in a holistic approach that will take in all the muscles relating to the issue at hand.
Relaxation Massage: A gentle, soothing massage that relaxes the body and mind. It aids in lowering the heart rate, aids in circulation, removes toxins from the muscles, can reduce inflammation and water retention and is a general way to improve stress responses.
Tuina (Chinese Massage): A very vigorous form of massage that can be undertaken lying down or sitting up and fully clothed. It involves very firm techniques that are remedial in some aspects and relaxing in others. It is a complete treatment that involves mobilisation of joints, acupressure using thumbs and hand techniques that include percussion.
Reiki: An energy based treatment that taps into Universal Energy. It is a hands on approach to transference of positive energy that heals and removes any energetic blockages that may be held within the body, clearing Chakras (our prime energy centres) and rebalancing our energy field so that we feel more at peace physically, emotionally and spiritually. It is a gentle, non-invasive healing method that creates harmony in your body and in your life.
