Having lived in and around Horsham since 1992, Del has had the privilege of working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of complimentary health, fitness, and recreation settings. In her role as provisional psychologist at Wimmera Psychology, she provides psychological counselling and treatment utilising focussed psychological strategies to the same diversity of clients.
Personally committed to principles of equity and social justice, Del’s clinical orientation is client-centred therapy, which regards the quality of the relationship between client and therapist as integral to the client’s growth. Drawing on a range of psychological and counselling approaches, Del addresses and relieves crises, before identifying and working on underlying issues that detract from enjoyment of life and relationships.
Del is able to help with anxiety, depression, relationships, and a variety of mental health and wellbeing problems.
Del’s research interests are in the effects of attachment style on relationship satisfaction. In a clinical setting, she has particular interest in the support and education of those whose loved ones suffer from personality disorder and/or poor mental health, as well as the establishment and maintenance of positive shared care arrangements for families post-separation.
